Come to the prayer, Come to Prayer

Allah knows best !

According to the Sunna, when is the correct time to recite surat Al Kahf on Friday? Should be recited after Fajr and before Jumaa Prayer or anytime on Friday? Also, is it from the Sunna to recite Surat Al-Imran on Friday? And if so, when is the correct time to do so?

Praise be to Allaah.

There are saheeh ahaadeeth from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) concerning the virtues of reciting Soorat al-Kahf during the day or night of Jumu’ah (Friday). These include:

(a) From Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri, who said: “Whoever reads Soorat al-Kahf on the night of Jumu’ah, will have a light that will stretch between him and the Ancient House (the Ka’bah).”
(Narrated by al-Daarimi, 3407. This hadeeth was classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami, 6471)

(b) “Whoever reads Soorat al-Kahf on the day of Jumu’ah, will have a light that will shine from him from one Friday to the next.”
(Narrated by al-Haakim, 2/399; al-Bayhaqi, 3/249. Ibn Hajar said in Takhreej al-Adhkaar that this is a hasan hadeeth, and he said, this is the strongest report that has been narrated concerning reading Soorat al-Kahf. See: Fayd al-Qadeer, 6/198. It was classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 6470)

(c) It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘Whoever reads Soorat al-Kahf on the day of Jumu’ah, a light will shine for him from beneath his feet to the clouds of the sky, which will shine for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will be forgiven (his sins) between the two Fridays.’”
Al-Mundhiri said, this was narrated by Abu Bakr ibn Mardawayh in his Tafseer, with an isnaad with which there was nothing wrong.

(al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb, 1/298)

The soorah may be read during the night or the day of Jumu’ah. The night of Jumu’ah starts from sunset on Thursday, and the day of Jumu’ah ends at sunset. Therefore the time for reading this soorah extends from sunset on Thursday to sunset on Friday.

Al-Mannaawi said:

Al-Haafiz ibn Hajar said in his Amaali: “In some reports it says ‘the day of Jumu’ah’ and in some reports it says ‘the night of Jumu’ah’. They may be reconciled by saying that what is meant is the day which includes the night and vice versa.” (Fayd al-Qadeer, 6/199)

Al-Mannaawi also said:

“It is recommended to read it during the day or night of Jumu’ah, as al-Shaafa'i (may Allaah have mercy on him) stated.” (Fayd al-Qadeer, 6/198)

There are no saheeh ahaadeeth concerning reading Soorat Aal ‘Imraan on Friday. All the reports that have been narrated concerning that are either da’eef jiddan (very weak) or mawdoo’ (fabricated).

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘Whoever recites the soorah in which the family of ‘Imraan (Aal ‘Imraan) are mentioned on Fridays, Allaah and His angels will send blessings upon him until the sun sets.’”

(Narrated by al-Tabaraani in al-Mu’jam al-Awsat, 6/191; and al-Kabeer, 11/48. This hadeeth is da’eef jiddan (very weak) or mawdoo’ (fabricated)).

Al-Haythami said, “This was narrated by al-Tabaraani in al-Awsat or al-Kabeer, and it [its isnaad] includes Talhah ibn Zayd al-Riqqi, who is da’eef (jiddan) ((very) weak).” (Majma’ al-Zawaa’id, 2/168).

Ibn Hajar said: Talhah is very weak, and Ahmad and Abu Dawood accused him of fabricating reports. (See Fayd al-Qadeer, 6/199)

Shaykh al-Albaani said: (it is) mawdoo’ (fabricated). See hadeeth no. 5759 in Da’eef al-Jaami’.

And al-Taymi narrated in al-Targheeb that “Whoever recites Soorat al-Baqarah and Soorat Aal ‘Imraan on the night of Jumu’ah will have reward like that which is between the seventh earth and the seventh heaven.”

Al-Mannaawi said, it is ghareeb da’eef jiddan (strange and very weak).(Fayd al-Qadeer, 6/199)

ISTIKHARA !!

بـــــــــــــــــــســم الله الرحمن الرحــيــــــــــــــــم

"Put your trust in Allah, certainly, Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him)."[Surah al-Imran; 3:159]

Istikharah is to seek guidance from Allah when one is faced with a problem to which no solution is apparent. To ask Allah to guide you to the path best for you concerning an affair with two halal options.
Whenever a person is faced with a difficult problem, or becomes hesitant in making a decision and his knowledge of the matter is insufficient to guide him then after seeking advice from trusted friends and family, he should turn to Allah and beseech His grace. He should willingly and with an open heart and mind supplicate for divine guidance and ask for direction so that the problem is solved in his own best interest. The Du'a at such an occasion is called Istikharah.

Anytime a Muslim is making a decision, he or she should seek Allah's guidance and wisdom. Allah alone knows what is best for us, and there may be good in what we perceive as bad, and bad in what we perceive as good. This prayer is usually made when making a decision to marry someone, or working out which university to attend, and so on. But it can be related to any significant, or insignificant aspect of a person's life. If confused about a decision, where you have a choice to make, make this prayer. Simply, seek Allah (Ta'ala)'s guidance.

It comprises of a two rakat non-obligatory (nafil) prayer, prayed at anytime during the day, with the specified du'a recited at the end.

The Dua for salat al-Istikharah

According to a traditional report transmitted on the authority of Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir, it was Jabir ibn 'Abdillah (radiAllahu anhum) who said:
"Allah's Messenger (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) used to teach us how to seek guidance in choosing the best option available in a practical enterprise [al-istikhara fi'l-amr], just as he would sometimes teach us a Chapter (Surah) from the Qur'an.:

"'If one of you is concerned about some practical undertaking, or about making plans for a journey, he should perform two cycles of ritual prayer [rak'atain], not as an obligatory observance [farida], but voluntarily. Then he should say:

Allahumma inni astakhiruka bi ilmika wa-astaqdiruka biqudratika wa-as'aluka min fadhlika al-adheem. Fa innaka taqdiru wala' aqdiru. Wa ta'lamu wala a'alamu wa anta allaamul ghuyub. Allahumma in kunta ta'lamu anna [hadhal-amr] khayrun li fi deeni wa-ma'ashi wa-aqibat amri, fa'qdruhli wa-yasirh li thumma barik li feehi. Wa in-kunta ta'lamu anna [hadhal amr] sharrun li fi deeniy wa-ma'ashi was-'aqibat amri. Fa asrifh anni wa-srif 'anhu. Wa aqdurh liyal khayr hayth kana thumma a-rdhini bihi

O Allah! I seek Your counsel by Your knowledge and by Your power I seek strength and I ask You from Your immense favour, for verily You are able while I am not and verily You know while I do not and You are the Knower of the unseen. O Allah! If You know this affair [this matter] to be good for me in relation to my religion, my life, and end, then decree and facilitate it for me, and bless me with it. But if in Your Knowledge, You know [this matter] to be ill for me towards my religion, my life, and end, then drive it away from me and drive me away from it, and decree for me what is good wherever it be and make me satisfied with such.

Imam an-Nawawi holds that "after performing the istikharah, a person must do what he is wholeheartedly inclined to do and feels good about doing and should not insist on doing what he had desired to do before making the istikharah. And if his feelings change, he should leave what he had intended to do, otherwise he is not completely leaving the choice to Allah, and would not be honest in seeking aid from Allah's power and knowledge. Sincerity in seeking Allah's choice, means that one should completely leave what he himself had desired or determined."

Summary of the method

In time of decision making, and a feeling of uncertainty about your affairs.

You wish to pray to Allah Ta'ala to seek some guidance (on a halal matter).

Before reciting the dua' make sure that you are not already inclined to a given decision; otherwise it will mean that you are not serious about seeking guidance from Allah (Ta'ala).

You perform the prayer, and recite the cited dua' at the end.

Upon performing the prayer, you will have a feeling or inclination towards one choice. So that is the choice that you have to take, inshaAllah (God Wiling).

If your his mind has not been made up after the first day, and some doubt still persists, then repeat the salah the following day. This can be continued for up to seven days. InshaAllah, you will come to know of the advantage or disadvantage of that matter.

After performing the salah, one should "have a good feeling" -- a 'firmness' about one of the options. Whatever option one feels is best right after saying the du'a should be the decision. If still in doubt, the salat can be repeat (up to seven times). After having placed one's trust in Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala), simply following one's feelings after performing it

How to make the angels pray for you ?

Isn’t it common that our fellow brothers and sisters ask us to do dua for them?
We reply to them, "Insha Allah surely I will make dua"; However, Do we really make dua for our fellow brothers and sisters?

If we knew the echoing benefit of doing it, would we do it even when it is not asked?

Insha Allah, surely we will… Here is the reason:

Abu Dharr reported that Allaah's Messenger (SallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) said: There is no believing servant who supplicates for his brother behind his back (in his absence) that the Angels do not say: The same be for you too. (Muslim)

Share your personal experience of making dua for others and the dua being answered here.
How is Du'aa answered?
  1. Allah grants the person what he asks for as he asks for it right away.
  2. Allah, instead, removes a calamity in the future of that person, similar to what he asked for.
  3. Allah saves it for him for the Hereafter.

Tafseer of Ayat-ul-Kursi !

(THIS TAFSIR WAS DONE DURING THE JUMMAH KHUTBA; TANZANIA DEC. 09)

All praise is due to Allah lord of the worlds. We praise His and we beseech him for help & assistance. Whomsoever Allah guides none can lead astray. And whomsoever Allah refuses to guide no one can guide. I testify to the fact that there’s no deity worthy of worship but Allah. And I also testify that Muhammad (saw) is his last Prophet and Messenger.

Brothers and sisters in Islam, Allah has blessed us once more to witness another day of youmul jumua. Today we shall be explaining the greatest ayah of the Holy Qur’an. This verse is called ayatul kursi. In this verse Allah said:

"He is Allah! Laa ilaaha illaa huw, none has the right to be worshipped except Him. He is al Hayy, the Ever Living. He is al Qayyum, the One who sustains and protects all that exists in the heavens and the earth. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him save by His permission? He knows what happens to his creatures in this world and what fate awaits them in the Hereafter. And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge save that which He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most High , the Most Great." (al Baqarah: 255)

Brother and sisters in Islam we shall explain each sentence of this verse so that the congregation will understand the meaning of ayatul kursi which is the greatest ayah of the Holy Qur’an.
The Qur’an states:

"He is Allah! Laa ilaaha illaa huw, none has the right to be worshipped except Him..."

When a Muslim recites this sentence of ayatul kursi, he/she is hereby repeating the shahada. It must be borne in mind that the shahada has 7 conditions which have to be practiced in order for a person to be accepted as a real Muslim. The first condition of shahada is ilm, knowledge of what the shahada means. There is a so-called Muslim country in which the citizens are Muslims who recite the shahada, yet until recently they used to hold a weeklong festival to send praises to the gods of the sea. How can a Muslim recite the shahada and ayatul kursi and declares that Allah is the only true deity yet sends praises to the gods of the sea?! Indeed these people have nullified their shahada because there’s no excuse for the shirk of worshipping a false god.

Allah said he will forgive any crime except shirk. Hence Allah said:

"Verily Allah doesn’t forgive the crime of shirk, worshipping false gods but He will forgive anything else to whom He wills; and whoever set up partners with Allah in worship has indeed committed a grave sin." (2: 48)

These so-called Muslims who hold a weeklong festival to praise the gods of the sea to bless them in their catch of the fish and to protect their boats from capsizing do not practice Laa ilaaha illal laa, there’s no deity worthy of worship but Allah. They recite it for cultural reasons but not by conviction. Anyone who recites the shahada but doesn’t know what he/she is reciting is a kafir because the first condition of shahada is knowledge of what the shahada means.

"He is al Hayy, the Ever Living, al Qayyum..."

Allah refers to Himself as al Hayy in this sentence. Thus He alone is the Ever Living. The Goofi Soofis and the Berailwis give this attribute to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw). Hence they claim that he is alive in his grave and he is fully aware of the affairs of his Ummah. It must be borne in mind that it is the ijmaa, agreement of the sahabas that the Rasool (saw) is dead and to go against the ijmaa of the sahabas is an act of kufr. When the Rasool (saw) passed away Umar (ra) said:

“If I hear anyone saying Muhammad is dead I shall cut off his head with my sword.”

Then Abu Bakr (ra) went into the home of the Prophet (saw) and kissed him on the forehead and said to the Ummah:

“People anyone who worships Muhammad let him know that Muhammad is dead, and anyone who worships Allah, let him know that Allah is alive and cannot die.”

Then Abu Bakr (ra) read the ayah: "Verily you Muhammad shall die and all your companions shall die too." (Surah Zumar 39: 30). The real reason why the Goofi Soofis and the Berailwis of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Africa and Turkey spread the creed that the Holy Prophet (saw) is al Hayy so he is still alive in his grave, is because they are grave-worshippers and they believe that the Rasool (saw) can respond to their requests when they beseech him for things. The creed that Muhammad (saw) is alive in the grave and is fully aware of the affairs of his Ummah is farfetchedness and it goes against the creed of orthodox Muslims. We shall use a Hadith in Sahih Bukhari to refute the Goofi Soofi and the Berailwis. The Hadith says:

"On judgment Day some people will come to drink from my houd, lake-fount. I will look in their faces and recognize them because they used to be Muslims during my lifetime. But just as they are about to drink 2 angels will stop them. I Muhammad will cry out: “ They are Muslims, they are of my Ummah” But the 2 angels will say to me: “You don’t know what they did after you left, they turn back on their heels as apostates from Islam.” (Sahih Bukhari Vol. 9 Hadith No. 172)

We say to the Goofi Soofis and the Berailwis, if the Holy Prophet (saw) is alive in his grave and is fully aware about all matters concerning his Ummah, why is it the 2 angels will say to him on the Day of Resurrection: “You don’t know what they did after you left, they apostated from Islam.”

It is very easy to refute a Goofi Soofi or a Berailwi because they are 100% jaahil, ignorant in regards to Aqeeda.

"Al Qayyum, is the One who sustains and protects all that is in the heavens and on earth. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes him..."

Allah uses this statement to prove that anyone who sleeps cannot be God, because God doesn’t sleep. If he sleeps the entire universe will grind to a halt. The Christians in their ignorance and arrogance claim that Jesus is God. But the Bible says:

"Jesus slept and while he was sleeping he was in danger" (Luke 8: 28)

How can God sleep? Who would govern the universe if God should sleep?! Moreover how can God be in danger from His own creation?! How can God be vulnerable?! Anyone who is vulnerable cannot be God. Indeed ayatul kursi is used to refute the divinity of Jesus which is the pagan doctrine of the Christians. May Allah guide the sincere ones from among them to authentic tawheed. And may He condemn the stubborn from among them to the Hell-fire to abide therein forever.

"To Him belongs whatever is in heavens and whatever is on the earth..."

This ayah states that Allah is al Ghani, the rich while we are fuqaraa, the poor. The rain belongs to Allah and without the rain people suffer drought and starvation. We have seen people starve to death right here in Africa in some countries like Ethiopia, Chad, Niger etc etc. The Holy Prophet (saw) said:

“In the Last Days people will become evil and withhold Zakah which is a pillar of Islam. And had it not being for the animals Allah would not bother to send the rain.”

Allah owns all that is on earth, hence we are called ibaadur Rahman, the servants of Allah. So our wives belong to Allah and not our properties that we own the way we own cars and houses. Our wives are amaana, a trust for us to look after to gain Allah’s pleasure. Any man who doesn’t fulfil this trust doesn’t deserve a wife. Allah even owns the animals and at times He uses them as His armies to punish the kuffaar. In Surah al-Fil Allah told us that He used the birds to pelt Abraha and his army with stones and destroyed them. They came from Yemen the year the Holy Prophet (saw) was born to demolish the Ka'ba, Allah’s house.

"Who is it that can intercede with Him save by His permission?.."

We the members of ahlus sunnah wal jamaa’a believe in shafaa’a, intercession on the Day of Judgment, but only by Allah’s permission. The khawaarij do not believe in this crucial aspect of the Islamic creed. Ayatul kursi tells us that intercession will take place on the Day of Resurrection but only by the will of Allah.

On Judgment Day after all the previous Prophets refuse to intercede the Holy Prophet (saw) will be given the honor to intercede on behalf of humankind. On Judgment day a baby who died before reaching puberty will intercede for his/her parents as long as they are real Muslims. The Holy Qur’an will intercede for those who used to read it regularly. Ramadan will intercede and say: “O Allah I made him hungry so give him/ her jannah." A person who died a shaheed, martyr will be able to intercede for 70 members of his/her family.

The Holy Prophet (saw) said: “For every Nabi, Prophet there’s a dua which Allah shall answer. I saved up my dua to use it as intercession to beg Allah to give every member of my Ummah the jannah on Judgment Day.”

"He knows what happens to His creatures in this world and what fate shall meet them in the Here-after..."

In this statement Allah tells us that He alone has full knowledge of ilmul ghaib, unseen knowledge. No one is allowed to claim to have knowledge of the unseen. Some people who do black magic, work with the jinn and claim to have hidden knowledge of past and future events. This is to assume power among the people. Anyone who makes this claim has fallen into shirk and major kufr that ejects the claimant outside the fold of Islam. This is so because he is claiming Allah’s attributes for himself. These attributes are The All Seeing, The All Hearing, The All Knowing. In Europe the kuffaar install cameras all over the continent to convince the populace that they are the All Seeing, The All Hearing, The All Knowing.

The twelver shias claim that their imams have full knowledge of the ghaib, unseen. And nothing slips them. Khomeni even made this claim in page 52 of his book The Islamic State. This creed is shirk. Not even the Holy Prophet (saw) had full knowledge of the ghaib. In regards to this fact Allah said: "Say O Muhammad: “I possess no benefit or harm for myself except as Allah wills. If I had knowledge of the ghaib, unseen I would have piled up goodness in abundance and no evil would have touched me. I am only a warner and a bringer of glad tidings for a people who believer.” (Surah A’raaf 7: 188)

If Allah is telling us in this ayah that not even the Holy Prophet had full knowledge of the ghaib, how can the 12vers claim that their imams have full knowledge of the unseen and nothing slips them? We the members of ahlus sunnah wal jamaa’a say to the shias: You claim in your history books that Hasan (ra) was poisoned by his enemies so that Yazeed can become the caliph. If Hasan (ra) had full knowledge of the ghaib, why did he eat a plate of food that contained poison? Are you saying Hasan (ra) committed suicide? It is very easy to debate with a Christian, Shia, Berailwi and a Goofi Soofi because none of these four have any knowledge of Tawheed.

(End Of 1st Khutba)

"His Kursi (footstool) extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them..."

The word Kursi is rightly translated as footstool but sometimes wrongly translated as the throne. The word for the throne is Arsh. A Muslim should not get offended when he is taught that Allah has 2 hands and 2 feet because these hands and feet do not resemble our hands and feet. Nothing of the creation resembles Allah. It is Allah who told us that He has feet, thus He said: "Remember the Day of Judgment when Allah shall expose His shin for humankind to see. Then all shall prostrate themselves to Allah, but they the hypocrites will not be able to do so." (Surah Qalam 68: 42)

The Holy Prophet (saw) on commenting on this Qur’anic verse said: “Allah shall lay bare His shin on the Day of Resurrection, and all the believers, men and women will prostrate themselves before Him; but there will remain those who used to prostrate themselves in the world for showing off and for gaining good reputation. Such a one will try to prostrate himself on the Day of Judgment, but his back bones will become a single vertebra bone so he will not be able to prostrate.” (Sahih Bukhari Vol. 6 Hadith no. 441)

"Allah feels no fatigue in preserving the heavens and the earth. And He is the Most High the Most Great..."

Allah uses this statement to prove that He alone is the supreme Being who deserves to be worshipped. He feels no fatigue and He has no weaknesses. This is the meaning of the words subhan allah. This means Allah is far above all weaknesses and imperfections. Even the angels are imperfect because they drop down and faint when they hear the Qur’an being revealed to Muhammad (saw).

We use these words of Allah in ayatul kursi to refute the Raafidites (12ver shi'a) who claim that the sun, the moon and the stars are controlled by the imams. Even the atoms of the universe are been controlled by the imams. Khomeni even made this claim in page 52 of his book The Islamic State and no shia cleric refutes him. This means they agree with his shirk because according to sharia law silence means agreement. Allah told us in ayatul kursi that He alone is preserving the universe, so how can the Raafidites tell us that it is their imams who are in control of the universe, and even the atoms of the universe?!

I close this khutba by saying: The noble Sahabi Abu Huraira (ra) said:

Allah’s Messenger ordered me to guard the Zakah revenue of Ramadan. Then someone came to me and started stealing from the foodstuff. I caught him and said: I will take you to Allah’s Messenger. That person said to me, please don’t take me to Allah’s Messenger, and I will tell you a few words by Allah will benefit you. When you go to your bed recite ayatul kursi (2: 255) for then there will be a guard from Allah who will protect you all night long. And Satan will not be able to come near you till dawn. When the Holy Prophet heard this story, he said to me: That was Iblis, he told you the truth even though he is a compulsive liar. (Sahih Bukhari Vol. 6 Hadith No. 530)

Brothers and sisters if only we recite ayatul kursi before going to bed, ourselves and our properties will be protected by Allah till dawn. We notice that iblis is a scholar yet he doesn’t fear Allah nor worship Him. May Allah protect us all from evil scholars.

O Allah ! Forgive Us

O Allah, O Karim,
Please have mercy on me,

O Allah, O Karim,
Please forgive me for the sins I committed in the past
And those I will commit in the future.

O Allah,
Have mercy on all the Muslimeen,
And guide them.
Guide me O Allah,
And guide my parents,
My siblings, my cousins,
My aunts and uncles,
My nephews and nieces and so forth.

O Allah,
I ask You to strengthen my iman and those around me.
I ask You to soften my heart
And to soften the hearts of the believers.

O Allah,
Forgive me for my shortcomings, for only You are perfect.

O Allah,
Please forgive me if I ever got too wrapped in a matter
That I didn’t have time to utter Your name.

O Allah,
Please forgive me for all the salat I missed
Because of ignorance or laziness,
Please forgive me for all the fasts I didn’t make up,
Thinking it was “alright, since I fasted most of the days anyway”.

O Allah,
Please forgive me
For the pound I never dropped into the metal cup for the homeless man begging on the street.

O Allah,
Please spark the love of Islam in my heart and in the hearts of every single Muslim
Until it gets implanted in their children and their children’s children and so on.

O Allah,
I ask that You help me for I am weak
And will only grow stronger by Your strength,
So Allah please strengthen me
To fight Shaytaan and his whispers.
And if I ever fell into his trap
And followed my desirer,
Then sincerely forgive me,
For that displays not only my weakness,
But Your greatness as well.

O Allah,
Please lighten the punishment in the grave
For those before us and those after us.
Please Allah, lighten the punishment
And please shed light into every Muslim’s grave.

O Allah,
If I ever was too afraid
To stand up for Your deen
Because of what others would think
Then forgive me, for I was a fool for doing so.

O Allah,
Please protect me and each Muslim,
And protect especially the orphans and the widows.

O Allah,
Please strengthen the faith
Of the destitute Muslims around the world,
So they have hope to live.

O Allah,
If I ever forgot to do dua for even one suffering Muslim,
Then forgive me for then it is, as I haven’t done dua for the entire ummah.

O Allah,
Please be the light of my eyes, ears and heart.

O Allah,
Please be the light on the sides of me
And the light behind me
And the light in front of me.

O Allah,
Please forgive me
For all the foul words I spoke
Either out of ignorance or
Because I was trying to be “cool”.

O Allah,
Please forgive me
If I never stopped to think about You,
Due to “other important things”

O Allah,
Please forgive me
For not having enough time
Or creating time for reading the Quran.

O Allah,
Please forgive me
For listening to music
And watching movies and t.v.

O Allah,
Please forgive me
For all the yelling I’ve done
And the arguments I’ve been in.
For the only time
The voice should be raised
Is for Your praises!

O Allah,
Please forgive me
For my disrespect towards my family,
Elders, siblings and so on.

O Allah,
Please forgive me for any backbiting I have been accused of,
Whether I did it consciously or unconsciously.

O Allah, Rab al-Alamin,
Forgive me,
Forgive me for everything.
So for everyone,
Every single Muslim,
Dead or alive,
I do dua that You forgive them for all their sins.

O Allah,
Please please please
Help the suffering Muslims
of Kashmir, Palestine, Chechnya,
Bosnia, Gujarat, Nigeria,
Iraq, Afghanistan and everywhere around the world.
Please O Allah, make the Mujahideen victorious,
And let the beauty of Islam reign!

O Allah, give victory to the Muslims!
O Allah, please let true Islam reign!
O Allah, please increase our knowledge of Your deen and this world.

O Allah,
Please help us all and guide us,
For You are everything to us.

O Allah,
I cannot stress how much I ask for Your forgiveness and Your guidance.

O Allah,
I fear You
I fear You soooo much words cannot describe.
I fear the day when I will meet You,
And I WILL meet You.
When we are one on one,
And I have no one’s help or support.
No one can take the blame for me
Nor I for them.
The only thing I will have
Is a little book given to me by You
That has my deeds.

O Allah,
Please forgive me for my thoughts,
For even though I get sinned for my actions,
I cannot help but feel guilty for my thought
And I ask You to forgive me for them
And to clear my mind of any impurities
Until You become the only thing on my mind.

O Allah,
Please forgive me
If I ever did anything out of gain
For this life and not for Your pleasure.
If I did anything to “show off”
Then please forgive me for that.

O Allah,
I do dua that You grant us all God-fearing spouses
And grant us righteous children.

O Allah,
I do dua that You continue to strengthen this ummah until the Day of Resurrection.

O Allah,
Forgive me for whatever I have not mentioned,
For I am bound to forget
…but You,
through Your greatness…
You never forget.

O Allah,
Please grant all the Muslims Jannah-tul-Firdaus.

O Allah,
I ask that You shed Your mercy
On all the Prophets (peace be upon them)
And on all the Angels (peace be upon them).
Lastly, I do dua
You shed Your mercy
On the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him),
His family and companions.
I do dua that You grant Muhammad
The highest station in paradise.

Ahadith of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W) !

Anas bin Malik (Razi Allah Ta'ala Anhu) reported Allah's Messenger(Sallallahu Alaihi Wa'alehi Wasallam) as saying, It is from the conditions of the Last Hour that knowledge would be taken away and ignorance would prevail (upon the world), the liquor would be drunk, and adultery would become rainpant.

[Muslim, Book 034, Number 6451]

Status and Rights of Wife In Islam !!

Like the rights and status of woman, the position of wife in Islam is also a subject of misconception in past history as in the modern world. Now-a-days Woman Day is observed all over the world and the main slogan is about woman's status and rights. But considering the result of such observance, a question arises "Does it elevate a woman's status or give her the desirable right?" West has made woman an object of enjoyment and fun, deceiving her in the disguise of Savior of Woman and thus her status is being degraded.

In Islam, the rights and status of a wife is described precisely in the Qur'an and the Sunnah. In fact, only Islam gives her the worthy and glorious position. A woman becomes wife through marriage. She has the right to select her partner. As marriage is a sacred contract the selection process before marriage must be considered carefully by the man and woman. Our Prophet (SAWS) said, "Do not marry only for the beauty, may be the beauty becomes the cause of moral decline. Do not marry even for the sake of wealth, may be the wealth becomes the reason of disobedience; marry rather on the ground of religious devotion and piety."
Prophet (SAWS) urged to consider four points before selecting a spouse. They are beauty, wealth, family status and piety. Piety should come before all other considerations. Here, both the partners are hoped to be pious and sincere followers of the Qur'an and Sunnah. Both will be respectful for the rights and status of each other. This perception plays an important role for a happy and successful marriage.
In the Holy Qur'an, Allah (SWT) points to marital bond as one of His signs and says, "Among His signs is that He has created for you mates from among yourselves, that you may dwell in tranquility with them, and He has put love and mercy between your (hearts). Verily in that are Signs for those who reflect." (30:21). A virtuous wife is always a source of tranquility, love and mercy, as we find these in the great Muslim lady like Khadijah (R.A), the first wife of the Prophet (SAWS). Allah says, "It is He Who created you from a single person, and made his mate of like nature in order that he might dwell with her in love…." (7:189).
The two verses mentioned above state the great purpose of marriage i.e. tranquility and highlights the equal position of man and woman as both of them are created from "a single person". In Surah Baqarah (2:187) it is mentioned that "they (wives) are your garments and you are their garments". The inward meaning of garment is peace and security. Abdullah Yousuf Ali comments on this verse "Men and women are each other's garments i.e. they are for mutual support, mutual comfort and mutual protection, filling into each other as a garment fits the body. A garment is also both for show and concealment."
The Prophet (SAWS) said in reply to a questioner who asked about the best form of wealth, "The best wealth is a tongue which is wet with the remembrance of Allah and a health which is thankful to Allah and a believing, pious wife who helps her husband to keep to the practice of his faith." The references above from the Qur'an and Sunnah upgrades the statues of a wife.
A wife is entitled some financial and non-financial rights from her husband. A short description is given below:
  1. The husband should give his wife the marriage gift or Mohr and this will be her own property.
  2. The wife will get full maintenance from her husband e.g. food, clothing, housing, education, recreation, medication etc.
  3. Even if the wife is rich, she need not spend single penny for her husband or family. All these are the responsibilities of her husband.
  4. The mutually agreed conditions signed during the marriage contract become binding on both the spouses.
  5. She has also the right to divorce her husband if necessary.
  6. She can go to the court if her husband fails to meet her basic requirements.
  7. The husband and wife have mutual inheritance rights from the time of marriage.
There are some misconceptions regarding the rights of wife in Islam. It is due to the misinterpretation of some Qur'anic verses and some prophetic traditions. It is a matter of disgrace to mention that, we Muslims are now Muslims by birth, and we like to recite the Qur'an without imbibing the main essence from it. We need to make a great deal of study on the Qur'an and Sunnah. Lack of knowledge always results misunderstanding, misconceptions, chaos, and deprivation of human rights and deviation from the truth. Evidently it can even ruin one's faith.
In the matter of inheritance it may appear that a woman's share is unfair as she gets half of her male counterpart. However, in deeper study, it emerges that woman has been dealt with very fairly. As a wife she gets full maintenance and Mohr and inherits from her husband's property in case his demise is before her. These are her own property and definitely these are her unearned property. Whereas she is free of any financial responsibilities rather she is entitled to enjoy all her property without spending a single penny for the maintenance of the family, relatives or other dependents. On the contrary, the husband is ordained to bear the financial responsibilities of the family. And hence he needs more money and wealth to fulfil his commitment to his family and children and if he fails to carry out the duties he is going to be accountable to Allah and the Islamic society.
A misunderstanding is there encircling two verses of the Holy Qur'an. These two verses are as follows. "…. But men have a degree over them (wives). And Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise" (2:228). The other verse is that "Men are the Quwwamuna of women" (4:34). There are some people who translate the word Qawwamuna as superior which is an utter distortion of the meaning. In fact, the real meaning of the word is protectors and maintainers as Allama Abdullah Yousuf Ali and M. Pickthal and other famous Mufassirs translate.
The comment of Abdullah Yousuf Ali on the verse 2:228 is worth mentioning. He says, "The difference in economic position between the sexes makes the man's rights and liabilities a little greater than the woman's. Verse 4:34 refers to the duty of man to maintain the woman, and to a certain difference in nature between the sexes. Subject to this, the sexes are on terms of equality in law, and in certain matters the weaker sex is entitled to special protection." His comment on verse 4:34 is as follows: "Qawwam means one who stands firm in another's business, protects his interests and looks after his affairs; or it may be, standing firm in his own business, managing affairs, with a steady purpose." To make the matter clearer we can see verse 4:135 where the same word is used, " O you who believe! Stand out firmly (Qawwameena) for justice as witness to Allah…."
Dr. Hammudah Abdul Ati says in his book "Islam in Focus", "The degree (Darajatun) is usually interpreted by Muslim scholars in conjunction with another passage which states, inter alia, that men are trustees, guardians and protectors of women because God has made some of them excel others and because men spend of their means (4:340). This degree may be likened to what sociologists call "Instrumental leadership" or external authority in the household due to the division of labor and role of differentiation or superiority of one sex to the other."
The eminent scholar Mohammad Asad has translated this in "The Message of the Qur'an" as -Man shall take full care of woman with bounties which had been bestowed more abundantly…." He explains, "The expression "Qawwam" is an intensive form of "Qaim" (one who is responsible for or takes care of a thing or a person). This "Qama alal mar'a" signifies "He undertook the maintenance of the woman" or "He maintains her" (See Lane, vol.8 pg. 2995). The grammatical form of Qawwam is more comprehensive than Qaim and combines the concepts of physical maintenance and protection as well as moral responsibility.
It is clear that to be a true Qawwam is not an easy task as the husband is the maintainer, protector and has to stay with his wife in peace and spend time, wealth, energy and strength for the family. It is not an opportunity or privileges for a man but a heavy duty no doubt. Verse 24:33 emphasizes more on this point where financially handicapped male adults are asked to defer in the case of marriage until Allah gives them means out of His Grace and they are able to maintain the expenses of marital life.
In addition, the Qur'an says to take decisions through Shura or mutual consultation which is applicable in every sphere of our life starting from family life to state affairs. The verse reads "…who conduct their affairs by mutual consultation." (42:38).
So in the related Qur'anic verses there is no question of domination of man over woman per se. Hence a Qawwam cannot be a dictator, unjust, irresponsible or adamantine. On the other hand the wife is considered to be the queen of the family (according to a Hadeeth). So the wife, who rules the roost, has the authority over household matters. So the question of superiority of husband over wife cannot be raised and such question is really inconceivable. Moreover, Allah reminds us of our basic equality in the Holy Qur'an: "O Mankind! Reverence your Guardian-Lord Who created you from a single person, created, of like nature, his mate, and from them twain scattered (like seeds) countless men and women" (4:1).
Our beloved Prophet (SAWS) said, "A woman is like a curved rib, so be kind and considerate to her." This is also a misunderstood Hadeeth. It is misinterpreted to describe woman to be of crooked nature, which is not correct. Dr. Jamal Badawi says, "…. The Prophet (SAWS) exhorts Muslims to make allowances for the natural temperament of their wives, to be tolerant to them and not forcibly change their natures. If one does not do this the rib would break, that is there would be divorce."
Family is the basis of Islamic society. A wife deprived of her proper rights can not play her proper role to form an ideal family. The society will lose its balance if the foundation of the family is weak and not rightly constructed. An Islamic family, more precisely an Islamic wife, provides prosperity, balance and care for the coming generation. So if we can ensure the proper right and status of wife and free her from all forms of persecution, we can hope for a better future of a sound and well disciplined generation.

Wish for death !

Narrated Anas bin Malik (Razi Allah Ta'ala Anhu) The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa'alehi Wasallam) said, "None of you should wish for death because of a calamity befalling him; but if he has to wish for death, he should say: "O Allah! Keep me alive as long as life is better for me, and let me die if death is better for me."

[Bukhari :: Book 7 :: Volume 70 :: Hadith 575]

Islam Prohibits Alcohol !

The Universe
The entire universe and all its contents are the creation of Allah. The Earth and the Skies, Sun, Moon and Stars, Mountains and Oceans, all living creatures and each and everything owes its existence to Allah and Allah alone.
Almighty Allah says in the Holy Quraan:
"Behold! In the creation of the Heavens and the Earth; In the alteration of the Night and the Day; In the sailing of the Ships through the Ocean for the profit of Mankind; In the Rain which Allah sends down from the Skies, and the Life which He gives therewith, to an Earth that is Dead; In the Beasts of all kinds that He scatters through the Earth; In the change of the Winds, and the Clouds which they trail like their slaves between the Sky and the Earth; (Here) Indeed are Signs for a People that are Wise."
(Surah Al-Baqarah:164)
It is clearly evident from the above verse that Almighty Allah created everything and all these creations function according to Allah's wishes and commands.
The Human Being
Then followed the creation of the Human Being.
Almighty Allah states: "Man We did create from a Quintessence (of clay)." (Surah Mominoon:12)
Amongst all of Allah's creations the Human Being has been honoured as the best. Almighty Allah says: "We have indeed created man in the best of moulds." (Surah At-Teen:4)
So the world was created and so was man.
There is no fault in Allah's creation. To man, Allah gave the purest and best nature, and man's duty is to preserve the pattern on which Allah has made him.
Almighty Allah has exalted the Human even higher than the Angels, but if he uses his will and discretion is wrong then he will be abased to the lowest possible position.
The Shariah
Only Allah knows what is right and beneficial for His creation, and alternatively what is wrong and harmful. The Holy Quraan clearly states the lawful and unlawful actions. All Humans must follow this Law of Allah which is known as the `Shariah' or Islamic Law.
Amongst the clear-cut prohibitions is the use of Alcohol in any form whatsoever.
The Quraan Prohibits Alcohol
Regarding Alcohol - The Holy Quraan states: "They ask Thee concerning Wine and Gambling, Say: In them is great sin, and some profit, for men; but the sin is greater than the profit." (Surah Al-Baqarah:219)
The Arabic word used in this text is Khamr which is applied to all intoxicating liquor or drug.
The Quraan further states in Surah Al-Maaidah verse 90: "O Ye who believe! Intoxicants and Gambling, Sacrificing to Stones, and (divination by) Arrows, are an abomination, of Satan's handiwork; Keep away from such, that Ye may prosper."
Take Heed - Oh Muslims!
Quraanic evidence has been presented to you regarding the use of Alcohol. Allah - The All Knowing and full of Wisdom knows what is best for us - His creation. We must abstain fully from all forms and uses of alcohol.
No - Drinking!
So, firstly, all Muslims must not consume Alcohol at all. It is amongst the Major Sins and will have to be accounted for on the day of Judgement. Besides the Islamic ruling, we all know too well the harms of this evil. This is one of the main roots of corruption in society. Violence, family tragedies, suicides are a few of the fatal results of this disease. May Almighty Allah save us all. Ameen.
No - Selling!
The selling of Alcohol is also forbidden. It is completely Haraam for Muslims to be trading in this trade. It is also forbidden to sell alcohol as part of your business. Grocers, Newsagents and Mini-Market traders should keep this in mind. Therefore, no question remains regarding trading in Off-Licences, Pubs or Public Houses. In selling of these in Take-Aways and Restaurants also is completely Haraam. Muslims should also not work or employ any of their family members in such Haraam Environments.
May Allah give us the right understanding. Ameen.
Conclusion
The consumption of Alcohol can destroy families, communities and in fact a whole locality. Man commits such autrocious crimes in the state of being drunk which can only be described as babaric and ruthless. A life of a drunkard becomes hell and of all those connected with him. And remember, it's an addiction. A few drops will lead to a glassful which in turn will lead to bottles. Then there will be no stopping.
Selling these products makes ones livelihood Haraam. All his life will pass through Haraam. His clothing, sustenance e.t.c. if bought from this income will also be doubtful. So, Oh Muslims - Take heed and abstain from the mother and roots of all vices and evils. May Allah grant us the right understanding. Ameen-Ya-Rabbal-A'lameen.
